Obituary for Benjamin John Ceccarelli

In Loving Memory
of
Benjamin John Ceccarelli
Carla, Gerry and Maria are sorry to announce the peaceful passing of Benjamin John Ceccarelli, 93, at St. Joseph’s Villa Sudbury on December 1, 2017.
Although Ben leaves behind many family members (including sister Alda Guiseppe, and brother Aldo) and friends, he also leaves an abundance of fond memories which will be forever cherished by all who knew him.
A humble man throughout his life, of paramount importance was his faith. It was not unusual to find him in prayer at weekday noon mass at Christ the King, where he was a long time devoted parishioner.
Ben is now reunited with the love of his life, Zina, having shared 65 years of marriage until her demise in 2013; his brother Gino; and many other relatives and friends who have gone before him.
A true entrepreneur at heart, Ben started as the son of Italian immigrants who came to Canada with nothing. Together with Zina, they created their own destiny, relying on no one, starting in the early years of marriage with a popular hot dog stand known as “Benny’s Milk Bar” on Lorne Street, followed by further ventures in wholesale produce and real estate development.
The family wishes to extend many thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Villa, Ramsey Lake Health Center, Canadian Shield Health Care Services, and the constant spiritual guidance of the faith community of Christ the King Church.
