I will remember Helvi as a funny, fearless  lady with a wee bit of a devil in her.  She chastised me numerous times for not being brave enough to drive the boat across the lake to visit her & Tauno. She took out a map of Penage, drew a straight line on it from our camp to theirs, handed it to me & said, "Here, it's easy. Just go straight! I can drive the boat to camp in the dark with my eyes closed; surely you can do it in the daytime!" Eventually I did, on a day when the waves were higher than my mother's comfort level, and this photo of my mother & Helvi & Tauno is the result. We had a lot of laughs that day, with Tauno telling stories about my dad & him that I'd never heard before.
