Obituary for Maria Valeria Prez (Pidutti)

It is with profound sadness that the family of Maria Prez (nee Pidutti) announce her peaceful passing in the early morning hours of February 16th, 2018. Maria was born in San Daniele del Friuli, Italy, to proud parents Ciro and Angela (Pascoli) Pidutti. At the young age of two, she immigrated to Sudbury with her mother and brother Emilio to join her father, who had been working hard to establish the first of what was to be several family enterprises built on the values of hard work, delivering the absolute best not on one’s own, but as one united family. This work ethic, instilled in her from a very young age, enabled her to take on increasing responsibilities as the family business continued to grow and diversify. She ultimately became the CEO of BIN Management, a position not sought after, but necessitated by the untimely death of her brother Emilio. Maria was a private person, but those who knew her well were privileged to witness an unassuming, fiercely loyal, and determined woman who placed the needs of her family and loved ones above her own. Her faith and belief in God enabled her to deal with all of life’s ups and downs and sustained her until the very end. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy, 4:7. In her final days, Maria received comfort in the belief that she would join her parents, brothers Enea and Emilio, and all extended family members gone before her. Maria is already missed but will never be forgotten by her husband of 42 years, Frank; daughter Victoria, her pride and joy, and her husband Peter; her devoted sister Vicki, who never left her side; soul sister Sally and her daughter Genny; and all her colleagues at BIN Management. Also grieving her loss are nieces Angela and her daughter Karina Emilia, and Sara, several cousins, especially Amelia and her husband Killian, and extended family members in Canada, the U.S., and Italy. Sincere thanks are genuinely extended to Nurse Practitioner, Claire Warren, and Bayshore nurses Gabby, Eve, and Sarah, for the professionalism and real compassion exhibited by them.
